Cormorants, shags, oystercatchers and sea ducks
In the UK there are only two species in the cormorant and shag family, both show the characteristic behaviour of standing with their wings held half open to dry. Oystercatchers are wading birds that are found on freshwater and seawater margins and sometimes on drier ground inland. The only sea duck in the UK is the eider duck.
